Hadron Structure and the QCD Phase Transition

چکیده
Firstly, I give a brief summary of the current understanding of QCD below and near Tc (the critical temperature of the chiral transition). Some emphases are put on the qualitative difference between the Yukawa regime (T ∼ 0) and the Hagedorn regime (T ∼ Tc). Secondly, the dynamical phenomena associated with the chiral transition, in particular, the spectral changes of hadrons in hot and/or dense medium are reviewed from the point of view of the QCD spectral sum rules. Confusions on the QCD sum rules at finite temperature/density are also clarified and remarks on the effective lagrangian approaches are given. Thirdly, planned experiments to detect the spectral changes in medium are summarized. 1 Invited talk at the 9-th Nishinomiya Yukawa-Memorial Symposium on Theoretical Physics, (Oct. 27-28, 1994, Nishinomiya, Japan) e-mail address: [email protected]

0 Inhomogeneous nucleation in quark - hadron phase transition
The effect of subcritical hadron bubbles on a first-order quark-hadron phase transition is studied. These subcritical hadron bubbles are created due to thermal fluctuations, and can introduce a finite amount of phase mixing (quark phase mixed with hadron phase) even at and above the critical temperature. For reasonable choices of surface tension and correlation length, as obtained from the latt...
متن کاملPossible Cosmological Implications of the Quark - Hadron Phase Transition
We study the quark-hadron phase transition within an effective model of QCD, and find that in a reasonable range of the main parameters of the model, bodies with quark content between 10 −2 and 10 solar masses can have been formed in the early universe. In addition, we show that a significant amount of entropy is released during the transition. This may imply the existence of a higher baryon nu...
متن کاملOn the Jeans instability during the QCD phase transition
The Jeans scale is estimated during the coexistence epoch of quark-gluon and hadron phases in the first-order QCD phase transition. It is shown that, contrary to previous claims, reduction of the sound speed is so little that the phase transition does not affect evolution of cosmological density fluctuations appreciably. متن کاملDeviations from the Harrison - Zel ’ dovich spectrum due to the Quark - Gluon to Hadron Transition
We investigate the effect of the quark-gluon to hadron transition on the evolution of cosmological perturbations. If the phase transition is first order, the sound speed vanishes during the transition, and density perturbations fall freely. The primordial Harrison-Zel’dovich density fluctuations for scales below the Hubble radius at the transition develop peaks, which grow linearly with the wav...
متن کاملQCD Phase Transition at high Temperature in Cosmology
The cosmological QCD phase transition is studied in terms of the color confinement at finite temperature using the dual Higgs theory of QCD. The confinement force is largely reduced at high temperature, which leads to the swelling of hadrons. We derive analytical formulae for the surface tension and the boundary thickness of the mixed phase from the effective potential at Tc. We predict a large...
متن کاملQcd Phase Transition and Primordial Density Perturbations
We analyze the effect of primordial density perturbations on the cosmic QCD phase transition. According to our results hadron bubbles nucleate at the cold perturbations. We call this mechanism inhomogeneous nucleation. We find the typical distance between bubble centers to be a few meters. This exceeds the estimates from homogeneous nucleation by two orders of magnitude. The resulting baryon in...
